Mostly I want you to photograph things of interest to you, and to think carefully, in camera, about formal composition (line, form, color, shape...)... to get close to things and think about direct visual relationships. Subject matter is entirely up to you - it might be easiest to explore objects (as we did with the paper on Wednesday); but really up to you.
The scanning part is about creating a secondary image that supports/goes with the first images you make with the camera. I want you to be thinking about the lines, forms, shapes, colors - all of those things and making an image that plays off of, in some way, what you shot. Not a lot of artists use scanners to create photographs, so I know that it is hard to find relevant work online....
